Honest lived experience
Personal reflections on mania, psychosis, hospitalization, recovery, and learning to recognize warning signs.
I share my experience of Bipolar I disorder to offer understanding, practical hope, and a reminder that a diagnosis is not the end of a person's story.
My life has included illness and recovery, family and work, difficult seasons and meaningful new beginnings. Over more than four decades of living with Bipolar I disorder, I have learned that honesty, treatment, structure, support, and grace all matter.
I am also a mother, author, speaker, mental health advocate, mathematician, and former technology entrepreneur. Bipolar disorder is part of my story—but it is not the whole story.
That belief guides my writing and advocacy. I hope that sharing lived experience can help families, clinicians, and communities respond with greater understanding and compassion.

Everyday practices that support stability, including sleep, routine, treatment, self-awareness, and trusted support.
A realistic message: stability is not perfection, and setbacks do not erase a person's worth or possibility.
